Calculators
Four tools, one engine, zero invented rates — every tariff, feed-in rate and factor comes from the same 2026–27 datasets as the rest of the site, with the source named under each result.
- Bill estimatorYour annual and quarterly bill from your zone's official rates — with the supply/usage split.
- Appliance running costWatts × hours × your state's tariff, for 26 appliances or any custom wattage.
- Solar paybackPayback years from your quote, state tariff, feed-in rate and the STC discount — double-count-proof.
- EV vs petrolCost per 100 km and per year, home charging or public DC, against a dated weekly petrol average.
What the defaults already show
- Run the bill estimator at 4,000 kWh a year and the dearest network (Essential Energy) comes out $913 more than the cheapest (CitiPower).
- The solar payback defaults (6.6 kW, a $6,500 post-STC quote) pay back in 3.5 years in the Northern Territory, compared with 5.7 years in Victoria.
